This Plus That

I love Amy's This Plus That Post.

Based on the book This Plus That by Amy Rosenthal

First, they brainstormed a list of their own ideas. Then made their own book.

Love it!!

I am a kindergarten teacher working with a majority of ESL students. I really like this lesson/ activity because something like this would really help to develop vocabulary for my students. I don't know what subject area and objectives you used for this, but this would really create a higher level thinking task in writing for my students. Another great vocabulary strategy we use is creating a list of "Wonderful Words" that is developed throughout the school year. Special words are chosen from the books we read and posted on the list that hangs along with the student given definition. These types of activities and strategies are so helpful to my students. I will be looking for this book! Thank you for your post!
