Let's Sing a Lullaby with the Brave Cowboy Giveaway

We read Jan Thomas' book Let's Sing a Lullaby with the Brave Cowboy and my kids thought it was hilarious! They loved that cowboy was afraid of everything.

We used the book as a springboard for a lesson on alliteration. We also examined the characters to decide on things we thought each character might say. My kids LOVE making speech bubbles for characters.

I am SUPER EXCITED because Jan Thomas has graciously sent me an autographed copy of Let's Sing a Lullaby with the Brave Cowboy to give away to one of you lucky followers.

All you have to do to enter is:
1) Follow Chalk Talk
2) Leave a comment about this book or one of Jan's other books. Share a class favorite or a way to use this book or one of her others in your classroom.

You can leave a comment for each requirement. Don't forget to leave your name and email address.

The giveaway ends on Sunday, April 28th at midnight. Good Luck!!

I love this idea! Another book I love is similar, it's called Cowboy Camp by Tammi Sauer. It's about a boy who wants to be a cowboy but isn't quite cut out for the job, in the end he's a hero. It's a great and simply adorable story. I'd love to read this one though.

Follow your blog. Currently, in my class, their favorite book is "Is Everyone Ready for Fun?" They love to act it out, read it to each other, exaggerate the actions (on the floor not on my sofa), and so much more!

This book looks like it would be great to use when talking about adjectives. They could find the ones that are in the book and see if they could add more based on the words and the pictures in the book.

This looks like a fun book! I would use it with my kindergarten and first grade students to help with story elements. I would also use it with second and third graders to help with dialogue. Too much fun!

I just discovered Jan Thomas books last month with the purchase of The Easter Bunny Assistant. She is my new favorite author! My kids LOVE, LOVE this book and have it memorized. We did a sequencing activity with the steps to dye eggs, and I used your idea to do a directed drawing on the easter bunny and skunk. They turned out sooooo cute they are going in their end of the year portfolios. Traci
