I have recently been introduced to the cloud-based presentation software Prezi. Its zoomable canvas makes it fun and interactive for little ones.
Carolyn Kisloski is a kindergarten teacher from Apalachin, New York who has been teaching kinder for five years. She creates Prezis to use with her Smartboard. She has created a great Prezi resource for Earth Day. You can access her Earth Day Prezi from her TPT store for free right now. Click here to check it out. I think you will LOVE it!! I can't wait to use it with my kiddos. Her kindergarten websites Prezi is also available as a free download.
Carolyn has offered to give away all of Prezi presentations to one lucky winner. The bundle includes Primary Math (full of math ideas organized by concept with the common core standards listed), Shake Breaks: Get up and Move (great for transition times, rainy days, and extra minutes), Authors (highlights 9 children's book authors), Letters and Sounds (great for introducing letters and sounds and teaching beginning and ending sounds, works for small group, whole group, and RTI), and Beginning Reading (contains reading strategy posters that can be used during reader's workshop time).

I would be so excited to use prezi in my classroom. I don't currently but would love to learn how. The shake breaks and author studies sound especially intriguing to me. Right now, we use quite a few videos for shake breaks on the elmo. But I have trouble getting to the right video at the right time. Sounds like prezi could solve that problem. Thank you!

I recently got an interactive board and it has changed the way I teach to be more kid driven instead of teacher driven. Even more recently I was introduced to using Prezi with my students. With prezi I am able to let them explore what they are interested in, while remaining focused on the subject matter - making learning even more student driven. I would be super excited to use these in my classroom.

Thank you so much, April! I am glad you enjoyed these! I feel like these have made me such a better teacher- able to use every moment! Now we look forward to those extra minutes to play a game or sing a song- and I don't fumble through my favorites to try to find one! I love these at morning rug time or small group time. I can choose a learning game as a free choice center, and it is the favorite! They don't even know they are learning! :) Alicia- that same thing happened to me with videos! It helps so much to have things organized and always at my fingertips on that Smartboard!
I included teacher idea links, too, in case you get a chance to look at the Prezis on your computer. I love the Common Core and of course, Pinterest, sites! :)
Thank you and enjoy! I have more coming!
Thank you again April! Your blog is so much fun to read with SO many neat ideas. I love it!

Hi! I added a preview to the Primary Math Prezi that you can try if you would like to see what one of the sections is like. I put the Number Recognition part on the preview. Have fun and I hope you enjoy it!
