Looks SO good, as usual! I was setting up my classroom today and hung up my "Miss Harris Went to Kindergarten" book that your kiddos made for me, along with a picture of us on Cowboy Day during my student teaching. Good memories!
WOW...so jealous! The room is beautiful. Can you tell me what you put in the white file boxes and blue/green baskets with sea creatures? I'm guessing one is for a book box???
I love your room! So bright and cheery! How did you attach your labels to your book baskets? I have the same ones - and I taped them on today. I'm not so sure the tape will hold though. Just curious! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks everyone for your sweet words. After all that work and no air for most of it I was happy to hear what you all had to say.
Now on to all of the questions...
My classroom does not have anywhere for the kids to put their backpacks. I saw this idea in a pre-k classroom so I am going to try it. The kids keep their backpacks in the baskets during the day.
I used clear packing tape to attache my book bin labels. They seemed to stick well. I wanted something to cover the label so it did not catch on things so I decided the clear tape was the best way to go. We will see what happens.
The white boxes on the shelf are for their book boxes. The boxes with the sea creatures on them are their cubbies and for their extra supplies and spiral notebooks or journals.
My mom made the skirt around my table. She just sewed fabric together and gathered it at the top. I used very sticky velcro to put it on.
Oh my goodness, I love your classroom, especially since it's pirate themed like mine. I like the pirates that you have hanging up over each table. Wonderful ideas & your students will LOVE it!! :) Lisa Learning Is Something to Treasure
Your room looks wonderful! I have a question..as a new teacher I am completely overwhelmed at how to set up a new classroom. Can you tell me what are the must haves vs what I can do without for now? I would appreciate any help you can give.
I got my book labels from Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits. http://tunstalltimes.blogspot.com/ Go to her TPT store and you will find her classroom library labels.
I love your classroom! It looks so organized and warm. I'm a kindergarten teacher about to start my 2nd year of teaching. Will definitely be coming back to your site for more ideas :) thanks!

You really tied it all together. So appreciate all you shared on how you did it. Any child will be lucky to be there.
Going to try to set my books up the same way. I have always felt putting all my books out would be overwhelming.
