Oh, the Places You'll Go!

I used this idea with my class when we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday, but a teacher's comment on TPT gave me the idea of saving it until May or June and using it as an end of the year activity. I have so many great Dr. Seuss ideas that I run out of time for them all so I really like the idea of using this one at the end of the school year.

Based on the book Oh, the Places You'll Go! After making the hot air balloons, have students do a writing response telling where they would like to go and why. You could make your focus related to where they want to go over the summer or to the next grade level.

This writing example came from a kindergarten teacher in  my district.

So.... if you ran out of time during your celebration of Dr. Seuss, you can pick this one up in a couple of months! Enjoy!

I love this idea for the end of the year! I love how Dr. Seuss stories can be used throughout the year to keep the students love for him growing and growing.
