More on Literacy Centers and Guided Reading

I made a post recently about literacy centers. Here are a few more resources you might want to check out.

Julie Lee and Deanna Jump just posted their School is Fun Literacy and Math Centers for August and September unit on TPT. The unit contains 20 math and literacy center activities. It is a must have to start the school year with!!

If you need a little help with the guided reading groups you are working with while your students are in centers, check out these resources. The ladies at Lesson Plan SOS have several great ones. I LOVE their Guided Reading With Pizzazz unit!! The unit contains lots of fun activities for jazzing up your guided reading lessons. Many of the activities can be used as literacy center activities too. For more information about the unit, check out the post Guided Reading....Primary Style.

For more information and tips on guided reading groups, read their post Guided Reading, then check out their unitBecome a Guided Reading Guru! on TPT. If you are interested in literature groups too, take a look at their Teacher Reading Binder Unit which contains the guided reading guru unit (80 pages) as well as a literature groups file (55 pages) that includes all of the information you need to successfully implement literature groups in your classroom.

You can also find a handful of guided reading resources from Kindergarten Works.
