- I taught full-day kindergarten for 14 years and have spent the last 2 years as a kindergarten and first grade strategist working all over my district. I am excited to say that this school year I will be back in my own kindergarten classroom!! While I loved working with kinder and first grade teachers and their students, I missed having a class of my own. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 2008 with a masters in curriculum and instruction. I am currently working on my doctorate in early childhood studies with a minor in curriculum and instruction at the University of North Texas. I hope to one day teach at the university level. I love what I do and want to pass on all that I have learned over the years to fellow teachers and students!

Wow, I love this class book... so cute! How did you get the candy heart background in the photos?

I purchased a set of large cardboard valentine hearts from a party supply store. They are double sided and meant for hanging. I taped them to a red sheet of bulletin board paper to make the background. I laminated them first so I use them over and over.
