I taught kindergarten for 16 years and was a district k-1 strategist for 2. I have a masters degree in curriculum and instruction from Dallas Baptist and a doctorate in early childhood studies with a minor in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Texas. I am currently working for Dallas ISD as a prek instructional specialist.
I have just been introduced to a new site I would like to share with all of you. It is Lesson Plan S.O.S. It is a site that includes primary and intermediate downloadable resources. There are tons of graphic organizers, venn diagrams, and activities for reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Most items are not more than a couple of dollars for the download. I just finished downloading activities and graphic organizers for using non-fiction books in the classroom, for working on writing conventions, and several seasonal and concept lessons. They have a great set of writing conventions posters as well as rubrics your students can use with each other. A couple of my favorite downloads are the family constitution, the save the pumpkins activity, Oh, the Places Shape Sheet, and the non-fiction venn diagram and posters. They will even create custom work upon request. Be sure to check them out. They are always adding new stuff!
